speed glue stiffens and quickens rubber increasing spin but effect does not last for long so it need to be reapplied at least every few weeks. important thing about speed glue is that it emphasizes spin over speed so you gain more on spin then on speed. using of harder rubber cement makes better contact betweeen rubber and blade compared to regluar rubber glue thus increasing speed. for anyone annoyed with frequent speed glueing, inconsistency of performance of speed-glued rubber or faster wear-off this is the best option-cemented rubber is unlike to became sluggish and loose over time. disadvantage is harder peeling off of rubber and cleaning of the blade when changing rubber which could be significantly harder, so proper choice of rubber cement is important. |
