Clear superiority of one player over another is an opportunity for diplomacy. You only create bad relations and hard feelings by continually giving your opponent a shot he can't return. If you know you can beat him at will with that stroke, go ahead and work on other stuff. Ultimately, you'll lose a practice partner if you frustrate him to the point that he feels inadequate. Down here in Texas we have an aphorism that captures it: Friends come and go, but enemies last forever. |
