As has already been mentioned, China will be proposing going back to 21-point games. Here's an excerpt from an article at the ETTA website:

http://www.etta.co.uk/News/News0203/Apr6a01.htm

There will be a proposition from China in Paris at the ITTF Congress to revert back to 21 up. Mr. Sharara said this was understandable as the best in any sport are always the first and hardest hit by any change of rule. He also indicated he felt that 11-up was now accepted all round the world.

There will also be a proposition from both Germany and China that the service rule be altered to require the ball to be thrown up 50 cm during the service. With support from two continents Mr. Sharara felt this would have a good chance of passing.

He also outlined detailed changes that will be proposed to amend the wording of the current service rule. This was due to players no longer adhering to the intent of the laws as published by the ITTF but to the exact wording of the current law.

Two changes will be proposed:

The free arm must be totally removed from in front of the body during the service action.

The ball must be visible to one umpire at all times. Where there are two umpires this means either umpire can say a service is legal but where there is only one umpire then if he cannot see the ball at all times the service will be illegal.

I agree with the above. True a lot of players 'cheat' with serve. 50cm, thoughh is a lot. I like 11 up; however 21 up is also a very short game . Let china win this. Or games should not be lest than 7 games.
