I started playing again after a ten year break. I decided to stick with my Donic Persson PowerAllround and just put new rubbers on it. Can a blade- assuming it's not damaged- change its characteristics over time due to play and wear?

One thing I like about my old blade is the way the sharp edges are worn in certain spots, making it very comfortable in my hand. I am intriguesd by those Donic Dotec blades with the rounded, cork-covered handles. Can anybody tell me anything about them? I know it always comes down to personal preference, but I was hoping for someone to share their experience switching over.
