I just went thru an tourny. Around 50 players and I'm the only... chopper! People gasped, ooh and aah when I retreived the seemingly impossible ball 6 inches off the floor, 12 feet back away from the table, but they cheered wildly when my opponent finally got in a fast ball out of my reach after a barrage of hard loops and won the point. I overheard they commented that long pips are weird and nasty--Plumb forgot before inverted was invented, we all played with pip-out. It's really a case of the new age looking down on the orthodox.
