Are there any techniques, tips, tricks or whatever to make looping more consistent?

I've noticed i'm pretty inconsistent at looping maybe since i'm concentrating on the upswing motion too much to end like you're saluting. I somehow miss the ball while looping. I haven't done it as much in games because of my inconsistency, though i am starting to focus on practicing it more. Any tips/tricks you found valuable while learning to loop? I suppose i will just have to keep doing it in practices until it becomes 2nd nature to me.
