2010 LIEBHERR EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS - OSTRAVA 11th–19th SEPTEMBER

Timo BOLL achieved something that no one ever did. German superstar, world’s no. two and Europe’s no. one won the Men’s Singles title at the European Championships fourth time in his career. In the final of the 2010 LIEBHERR EC in Ostrava BOLL overcame Patrick BAUM of Germany and completed the hat trick with top places at the lists of all three Men’s Events. Cristian SUSS of Germany and Werner SCHLAGER of Austria won bronze in singles.

Germany’s Timo BOLL and Christian SUSS are unbeaten fourth year in the row at the Men’s Doubles Event at the European Championships. They started their winning campaign with the title in Belgrade 2007. In the final of the Event in Ostrava they overcame Kasper STERNBERG and Jonathan GROTH of Denmark. KOU Lei and Yevhen PRYSHCHEPA of Ukraine as well as Jens LUNDQVIST and Par GERELL of Sweden won bronze.

Viktoria PAVLOVICH made her dream comes true and became a Singles champion in Ostrava. She made her ninth medal at the Old Continent - golden. In the grueling seven games final match Belarus player overcame LIU Jia of Austria champion from 2005 Aarhus and runner up from St Petersburg 2008. HU Melek of Turkey and Ruta PASKAUSKIENE of Lithuania won the bronze medals.

Ruta PASKAUSKIENE of Lithuania and Oksana FADEEVA of Russia clinched the title in the final of the Women’s Doubles Event. In the ultimate stage they overcame LI Jie and Elena TIMINA of Netherlands. Krisztina TOTH and Georgina POTA of Hungary as well as Daniela DODEAN and Elizabeta SAMARA of Romania won the bronze.

New - old champions at the Men’s and Women’s Teams Event at the LIEBHERR European Championships in Ostrava are Germany and Netherlands. In the final Germany beat Belarus and Netherlands beat Romania. France and Czech Republic won bronze in Men’s Teams Event whilst Belarus and Poland succeeded to the bronze in Women’s Event.
