Sorry, this item is currently out of stock. You may ask us to send a restocking notification when this item is back. The Photino is a blade designed for the highest standards of play. It has been extensively tested by many of our contract professionals and features Butterfly’s newest technical innovation, the use of ZL Fiber. ZL Fiber is lighter in weight and harder than even Carbon. At the same time ZL Fiber is more flexible than Carbon and holds the ball a little longer, allowing for maximum spin to be created. The ITTF has banded all glues with VOC’s as of September 1, 2008. Butterfly has created the Photino for the modern topspin player looking for more power in a future without fresh gluing. Very strong catapult effect makes European and tennis style strokes effortless. Excellent dwell helps impart maximum spin.
Catapult+dwell creates a rebound and spin effect that increases the overall speed of the ball. A higher throw angle helps the catapult get the ball over the net quite easily, while the spin imparted from the dwell time reduces the trajectory enough to keep it on the table. A fantastic blade! Works well with most rubbers. however, I would recommend something with a slightly lower throw angle (since the Photino already has a fairly high one). Tenergy 80, Xiom Omega IV Pro and 64 work exceptionally well. This blade has almost too much power up close to the table without chinese (angled) strokes, but is great from mid-distance. The thickness and the power makes it pretty hard to control without very advanced technique.
Love it!!! Ultimate Speed, High throw, highest catapult effect of all blades I think, Not To Hard-> nice Feeling and aGood Touch because of vibrations. Suitable for a fast and spinny Game in all Distances with the best Balance in catapult, Ball Feeling and Control.
-> Ultimate Blade Its Not Suitable for Players who want a Hard and Stiff blades and Powershots near the table because its just Medium Hard. But for the Allround Off+ attacking style its One of the best blades ever...(Of Course the best ZLF Blade available and much better than a Boll ZLF!)
This is my first real paddle. I got it with Catapult 2.1 on FH and Flextra 1.9 on BH. The BH is perfect and I can place my shots very well and with a lot of power. The FH is taking me a lot more time to learn. I'm not sure I made the right choice for FH rubber given my skill level. FH has a lot of speed and spin, but there's a big difference in how the ball travels with slam vs finesse shots. That being said, when I hit the ball the way it's supposed to be hit, it's a thing of beauty. The sound is really distinct as well when you hit the ball off the paddle's sweet spot. With my limited experience, I'd say this paddle is oriented towards players that like to smash the ball but still have lots of spin & control.
I just played a photino and i was surprised with the consistency on blocks and drives. At first, i thought i'll have a hard time looping, but i was able to adjust in just a couple of hours! I'm playing with xiom vega pro on FH and Tenergy 64 on BH. I'm very pleased with this setup!
I have used numerous blades for the past 13 years. More than 10 from the likes of Stiga, Joola and Butterfly. My worst experience was Michael Maze with arylate carbon. It was totally uncontrollable. I have used the Photino for 2 years now and it remains the best of all blades I used thus far. It has tremendously good wood feel with no vibrations whatsover. It is shod with Tenergy 64 on the forehand and Bryce on the backhand.
It is great in all aspects of play from pushes to topspins. Very powerful from mid-table for topspins and consistently hits its mark. I have tried the Innerforce but found that it has vibrations which I do not like. So far, this is the perfect blade and there is no need for me to look for another! Back to
