P5 is the first tensor I've used where everything clicks into place on my forehand side. It has very little of the classic tensor bounciness in the short game, it isn't uncontrollably fast at the top end, and the sponge is medium hardness with a linear power delivery.
While dealing with those problems, it also brings really, really good spin, and a useful high throw angle which makes looping a real pleasure. It's even good at blocking. A top rubber, but it's not as easy to find as some other brands, and prices are very high if you buy them from the big-name TT websites. I'm in the UK, but I have to order internationally or pay £45 - it's not worth that much cash.
P5 is a great option out there. I personally use it on a Xiom Stradivarius blade and like it, but would prefer T05FX. I love T05FX and have found it to be my best rubber on my stradivarius, spirit and maze. I use the strat as it has plenty of speed, near retarted spin and control like I was throwing the ball by hand. I use Adidas though to spread the popularity as TT in the US is undernoticed, and getting a big player like Adidas in the game would benefit us all. They have the resources to do amazing things so we need to show them that the market is there to sell in. I prefer P5 to Tenergy 05 regular because the throw is plenty high to lift anything, feels easy, yet i never launch off of table. I think tenergy wins in durability, I can go 6 months strong on tenergy but this is wearing down slightly faster, though still tougher than almost all rubbers out there. It may not sound like it, but it is great, but it is most comperable to the tenergy family and everything sounds meh next to tenergy. tenergy is to this generation of players what crack was to whitney. been using the p5 for 3 months now coming from the tenergy 05, same spin and speed and feels softer than the 05 so spinny loops are easy to execute. for me the best attribute of this rubber is its weight. its really light compared to most tensors in the market. its usually available online so just check the tt websites. sells around $70. highly recommended.
I just put the Adidas P5 on the Adidas FiberTEC Power blade and it works amazing. This rubber has many gears and is very tacky. I can loop underpin balls off the bounce.
So far, this is one of my favorite rubbers at the moment.
switched to p5 from tenergy 05 for my forehand. no change in technique necessary as the rubbers behave in a similar way. does not have the hard feel of tenergy but no loss in speed and spin. so 3rd ball spinny loops seems easier to execute. it also seems to be faster than tenergy as loop and loop kills have more zip to them. hard to come by as not readily available. i hope addidas will market this more aggressively in the US as im sure a lot of players will like this rubber. cheaper than tenergy as well as its rsp is around $70.
