Adidas P3 rubber is made for spin, speed, and precise placement. Though softer in density than the P5, this rubber uses much of the same innovative technology such as German large cell sponge technology. In particular, the P3 has the ability to support extreme topspin shots and arc-like trajectory for the medium distance and further players. Spin, speed and precise placement are the main characteristics of the adidas P3. Using the same innovative German large cell sponge technology as P5, but in a softer 45° density, the P3 offers superb speed and control. The special pimple geometry of the top layer combined with the large cell sponge supports extra-sharp topspins and an arc-like trajectory. Regardless if, for the fast attack or controlled game, in the middle or back court the P3 will support the competition player in all situations of intense matches. P3 2.00 to me, it seems soft both in sheet and sponge. Easy to play. and spin. I don,t recommend for a sake of speed ball, but only longing for spin and control in middle to far distance play, P3 will become on the top of my list.
1.8 sponge of P3 on a stiff blade, I personally it may increase more speed and it would be nicely perfect.
Best rubbers on backhand :)
Similar in many respects to Tenergy 64. I've been through 2 sheets in five months (average for me). Like 64, the arc on looping is not that pronounced. Very good for off-table looping. Chops well (I chop regularly). Short serves are not as spinny. Pushing is good, ball remains flat, not popping up. Rubber is light weight. Throw is medium. Very good for blocking, hitting, smashing.
I just reviewed the P5. Compared to that, this is slightly softer, and the pips look smaller and are spaced slightly further apart.
It shares a lot of characteristics with P5, but with the changes above taken into account, it plays a bit more direct, lower throw angle, slightly faster (not by much though). Feels better at blocking and hitting than P5, slightly worse in the looping department. As such, it works incredibly well on my backhand side. A top rubber, but it's not as easy to find as some other brands, and prices are very high if you buy them from the big-name TT websites. I'm in the UK, but I have to order internationally or pay £45 - it's not worth that much cash.
Rubber: Adidas P3 red
Thickness: 2.0mm Blades used: Stiga Ebenholz 7 & Adidas Challenge Speed tested an adidas p3 red 2.0mm rubber a few days now on those 2 above mentioned blades. ive been an acuda s2 user in my backhand for the past year and i wonder what is the fuss about this rubber. People say that this is Adidas' version of the Tenergy 64 and I think is very close to it with a few differences. the 2.0mm version was still versy fast when i was drilling with both in the fh and bh. the rubber was very bouncy with lots of control. The sound was also loud when i hit through the sponge. The throw was medium a bit lower than t64 with more or less equal spin. It takes about 1-2 days to break in. For advanced players i would recommend the max version in order to fully utilize the speed. intermediate players can enjoy the 2.0mm which will give them ample speed while maintaining a high degree of control. Countering and smashing with this rubber is tops. It is not sensitive to incoming spin which is an essential to those shots. this is also one of the best blocking rubbers i have ever tried. control is very good on passive and active blocking plus punchblocks.
