The following message (subject: Recreational player question) was posted by Eric Shain, on 12/11/2005 1:36:21 PM:
I've played for many years recreationally always with a prebuilt racket. I'm now playing with my two sons (12 and 15) and would like to try a better racket at a modest cost. I'm very confused as to what to buy. I play close to the table (which is what my basement allows) and like top spin forehands and quick over the table topspin backhands. Recommendations for a blade and rubber would be appreciated. Lastly, I've been playing with using a penholder grip and I'm amazed how much better my forehand smash is, but I'm not good on the backhand side. Any thoughts is this is worth continuing or should I stay shake hands. |
