When Evolution EL-S the tremendous spin values of the MX-S and the power of the MX-P were combined with a completely new surface. In combination with a medium hard sponge and a specially tuned pimple geometry, another independent lining in the Evolution series has been created which sets new standards in terms of elasticity. The outstanding Racket Ball coupling ensures a soulful touch despite enormous dynamics and highest spin values. Outstanding topspin on backspin, sets of EL-S in the reconstruction of another on top of it and provides maximum rotation and power in all game situations.

Reviews of Tibhar Evolution EL-S (22)

I used this rubber on my backhand. It felt quite nice with a good hardness, nice spin and speed and a medium high throw angle. It felt a little bit like a next step to butterfly Rozena, yet I still think it does not excel at any aspect. I feel like it is a perfect rubber for amateur to intermediate players.

Way too bouncy and stretched. No blocking or countering and way to tensored for effective brushing or hitting. Found it quite heavy too. Top derby wasnt the most durable either. My least favorite tibhar rubber

It has good control but the rubber looses its power and spin after about 4 months. Played on a viscaria.

I was using this on my backhand 3 months earlier and i have to say this rubber is a T05FX on steroids. almost identical spin but speed is almost on T05 levels. And the control is surprisingly good! I normally use forehand rubbers on black side but because of a ordering error i got the omega v asia as a red rubber and had to switch it. This is 2X better than DNA Pro M and if i did not make that ordering error i would %100 use this on my backhand.

WARNING: STAY AWAY FROM THIS RUBBER
This rubber is honestly the worst rubber I have ever played with, EVER. Doesn't grip the ball whatsoever and seems to slip off my bat really easy. This doesn't suit my playing style as I like to make the ball wet to throw my opponents off when I serve. It gets really dusty quite quickly and has a very low throw angle making me dump all my topspin shots straight into the net. I highly recommened the Xiom Vega Pro on the forehand or Evolution M-X-P as these rubbers grip the ball much better than ELS.

This is the WORST rubber in the evolution series, the topsheet is not durable and relatively sensitive to humidity. the sponge is soft allowing good dwell time for beginners, however perhaps too low for the modern all out attacker, for players looking for a budget rubber in the evolution series they should go for the evolution mxp.

I like it a lot. But then I also liked MXP, and MXS a lot.
Is it the perfect rubber? No it is not.
It does not have the long and fast trajectory like MXP, and not the same strong spin like MXS.
However it works well in which every ball will land on the table with safety. Again, it lacks the killing speed of MXP, and strong spin of MXS. But when you use it well, quality of shots are still very decent.
A solid above average rubber.
2021 Update: It remains a good rubber for developing players. However as you progress, you may find it a bit slow. Waiting for EL-D now.

Completely agree with Tim0chan review. I tested it again, for the second time (Fh and Bh), in a few matchs. It has no grip at all, and this is a disaster for the polyballs. It has some power and velocity, spin is good, and control is also good, but no grippy. I couldn't feel any confidence in my shots, real real let down.
Review helpful?    Yes | No

Unfortunately outdated rubber. Topsheet is not grippy enough for the newer generation of ABS balls. I don't have the confidence when looping as balls may slip off the topsheet. Engaging the sponge yields a slight improvement but still less spinny than something like the new xiom rubbers with dynamic friction technology or even DHS goldarc-8. On the up side, this rubber is super controllable with a very linear power progression and is very insensitive to spin (due to low grip). I would recommend this rubber to beginners as the rubber is super controllable with a medium hardness feeling. For intermediate to pro players, stay far away from this rubber.
Additional note: this rubber is heavily boosted out of the factory.boosting is required every few months if not it becomes extra dead.
Side note: The sponge has a very pleasant playing character. It would be interesting for tibhar to release a short pimple rubber with this sponge due to the high level of control but high enough speed when more effort is put in.

An excellent rubber. As a beginner, I used this on my fh, 2.1mm, FX-S on my bh, with the Tibhar Drinkhall All-round Classic blade. This combination helped me improve massively. I feel like this rubber would also be really good for intermediate and advanced players, but am relatively unable to comment on this as I am not one myself. The rubbers are able to impart plenty of spin on the ball when needed, aswel as having many gears. I'd say this rubber is fairly sensitive to incoming spin (an attribute that was aided by a blade which had really nice feeling). Overall, this rubber definitely served it's purpose, allowing me to develop as a player. In terms of durability, this rubber was noticeably much less grippy and spiny after 6 months of playing around 8 hours per week.

consistent rubber, medium to hard, 45 degrees, medium fast, medium shot angle, high spin, good control, has a good feeling similar to tenergy, for advanced is recommended in BH, for beginners and medium level in FH, very heavy Like a Chinese, excellent block, topspin, very good.

I have bought one for my BH, I am an allround - offensive player, control was one of my main issues, and this rubber on my Timo Boll ALC is doing a wonderful job! I feel very confortable and I have the feeling that I can control better every incoming stroke, short-long pushes or spins. Very happy so far!

I use EL-S on BH of my Nittaku Violin Carbon blade (H3 on FH). Compared to other Euro/Japanese rubbers I've used in the past (Xiom Vega Intro, Nittaku Fastarc S-1, Andro Powergrip, Xiom Vega Pro), EL-S is the fastest. I mostly block and loop, occasionally chop with my BH, as such EL-S excels at everything I need it to do. Despite the hard sponge, the rubber grabs the ball very well and it's very dynamic. I can punch back opponent's loops with a lot of power and precision. It's also easy to lift backspin on opening loop. The only issue I'm having with EL-S is BH flick. It's not really the rubber's fault. Because my BH is not that strong, I'm having trouble engaging the hard sponge when flicking. My BH flick is not consistent yet, but once I improve my technique, there shouldn't be any problems.
Overall, EL-S is a very satisfying rubber to use on BH. I would rate it as 9.5 out of 10. It's still a tad bit hard for my BH. I might switch to a softer rubber and improve my BH, then switch back to EL-S. It's pretty much a perfect BH rubber.

I used Cypress Max and XIOM platinum (both are Japanese penhold hinoki rackets) to try this rubber (max thickness). Compared to Tibhar MXP and ELP, this rubber lack of speed and drive, the loop is heavy due to its dense upper sheet. The control is good, and serve is OK, but the push speed is only medium. This rubber has some identical characters of XIOM Sigma Europe aad Yasaka Rakza 7.

Very solid and consistent rubber! I'm using it for over six months on my bh and I'm very satisfied with its performance. Great speed, excellent spin/control. It's also very easy to flick with it, and blocks are a dream. Highly recommend!

Has quite a bit of catapult that kicks in rather late - even in 1.8. Feels quirky on my blades, was well worth a try but doesn't suit me - I'm too much of an ambitioned amateur for this one.

I play with el-s 1,9 on Stiga OCC and allround classic. It is very spinny rubber, not very sensitive to incoming spin, not slow. But the rubber has hard top sheet and feels hard, not like T05, more like Chinese rubbers, dwell is low, arc is medium, difficult in short game. Defend outside the table is impossible due to the high emission of the ball. Rubber is only for professional players. For intermediate players Xiom Vega will be more friendly and more close to Tenergy.

Nice rubber. Very spinny but not as spin sensitive as Tenergy series. For the most a very good backhand rubber but I use it on fh.
On a carbon blade it works super on fh. Really nice rubber to finish points. On an allwood blade the catapult is annoying sometimes but on a carbon blade you have a really good touch with it. It is faster than the rating here for sure.

In the first few days of using Tibhar Evolution EL-S, the rubber started crumbling around the edges. Very annoying, never had that problem with Donic rubbers. Other than that, this rubber works okay.

Interestingly, my red EL-S rubber (1,9/2,0mm) looks flat/ dull/ almost frosted, a little bit like Palio Hidden Dragon biotech or like the Palio Premium rubbers (CJ8000 extreme spin). Mine is not sticky at all, it is very grippy. Although it is supposed to be a medium hard rubber, it feels more rather medium-soft, more towards the FX-P I once tried on my forehand, and less like the usual EL-P I normally play. More forehand loops hit the table now than with my EL-P and fewer shots go too far right or left, longline topspins are easier to do now. However, I felt more power with my EL-P and the tospins were more brutal with it. The EL-S also feels a little bit like the Vega Japan I have on my other blade, or maybe like a softer version of Adidas P7. I will stick with the EL-S however, because placement and spin are really good with it and looping serves and underspin is really a little better with the EL-S than with the EL-P. Great rubber for me. My blades are all Yinhe/ Galaxy T-6s and they are all lighter than 80g, (76g, 77g, 79g). So it pairs well with carbon blades.

EL-S is a fantastic rubber with grip comparable to Tenergy 05. This extra grip does also come with extra sensitivity to spin. Whilst it is the best alternative for T05 in terms of speed, spin and throw angle, I found it to be a rubber with no personality, ESN sponges under 47 degrees just feel bland and overly soft to me. Whilst EL-S may gain many fans as the highest spin and arc producing ESN rubber, I find it quite boring to play with. MX-P on the other hand never fails to put a smile on my face. I have written this review to warn MX-P and T05 users not to get EL-S if they have an addiction to that satisfying 'CRACK' and explosive power that comes from the MX-P's boosted 47 degree sponge and T05's infamous spring sponge. If you are looking for high spin, high arc and want a rubber that forgives more than T05 and MX-P then EL-S is your rubber, I myself am going straight back to MX-P as it is easier to control than T05 and still puts a big smile on my face when I engage the ball hard and get that crack reminiscent of the speed glue era. I can't see that any professionals using either T05 or MX-P would switch to EL-S. It is probably the best all round rubber I have ever played with, but it is just missing something that I can't enjoy the game without - : )

My personal opinion is that EL-S is not a T05 or MX-P replacement per-se, I think the players that stuck with Barracuda, despite all the new rubber releases, should give EL-S a try and I am certain they will love it.

blade : waldner senso carbon Jo shape ; FH => Tibhar EL-S 2.0 red ; BH => Tibhar MX-S 1.9 black
Played with P-ball.

It's a good rubber with P-ball, for off- player who not play to far from the table. Very pleasant feeling, it gives the sensation to be capable to perform all table tennis shots and trickshots.
The sponge hardness is medium hard but not more, it feels less hard than mx-s or mx-p for example.
Definitly not off+ rubber, slower than mx-p or rasant powergrip and a little slower than fastarc p1.

The rubber's description tells EL-S is a mix of MX-S topsheet and MX-P dynamism, it isn't entirely true. It's more a mx-s with more catapult effect than a grippy mx-p. If you expect the same dynamism than mx-p you will be disapointed. If you search a rubber a little more punchy for top spin than MX-S, it will be perfect !
Throw angle is medium so it can be surprizing for players who like high throw angle rubbers with high arc top spin.

Speed : MX-P >> MX-S = EL-S
Spin : MX-S >or= EL-S > MX-P
Control : EL-S > MX-S >> MX-P
Catapult effect : MX-P >> EL-S > MX-S
Hardness : MX-S > MX-P > EL-S
