Fast and Spinny, but not quite as tacky as some other Chinese rubbers. Can't talk about how long it lasts but will update down the road. For now I will be keeping this on my FH and maybe look for another rubber for my BH. Used with a Sanwei Pro V5.

Extremely difficult to use. It has a very low trajectory which makes it very hard to loop underspin.

This is the typical Chinese rubber. I use it to improve my technique. I recommend it one hundred percent.

Very tacky rubber, and very hard sponge. Topsheet is soft, and grabs the ball really well in all types of shots. The tackyness of the rubber fades in the first session of training, but the rubber keeps very grippy, and the ball does not slip off at all dispite the lack of tackyness. After the session, if you clean the rubber using only water and a sponge, the tackyness will come back (that's the way I did it and it worked). This rubber is very controled in short game, I would say slow. In passive shots, it is very slow, but when you start to activate the ball, it starts to show its speed. This rubber is very fast if you use the correct tecnique on your full stroke, and the amount of spin it generates is just insane. I woutdn't say it is a hard rubber to play with, because it is very controlable and slow on low force strokes. But, in order to use the full potential of this rubber, you need to have a good tecnique, and good footwork to always be in a good position to make active strokes. Overall, it is a very linear rubber, you will have to do the work. The throw angle is lower than nittaku fastarc g1, but not by much. Serves are very VERY spinny, and blocking fast attacks is easy.

Hi, I am not writing a full review for STN. This rubber has already gained a lots of complements from many players, positive reviews are plenty available in the Internet. I just wanted to add some information for people who is thinking of giving this rubber a try.
Re-gluing. This rubber does not like re-gluing. Please be advised that only H40 sponge can be confidently re-glued. When cleaning old glue from H40 sponge, the sponge may remain intact. Re-gluing H39 and especially 1.8mm is bad idea. Sponge is too soft, as the most of cake sponges. So, once you glue let it sit there for 90 hours then you decide what to do. If you are going to re-glue, then again be advised that this rubber curls inwards, so gluing it back is a pain in the bum.

Please be careful when choosing thickness and hardness. STN comes with a choice of three thickness - 1.8, 2.1 and MAX which is probably 2.2mm. On top of that the hardness can be 40 or 39. For some weird reason only a few shops accurately advertise specs. Over years I've seen no spec given or they sell MAX but it's no clear what hardness. Due to the heavy sponge, MAX with H40 will be very heavy... when cut to viscaria size shake hand grip the weight of the sheet will be 56 - 54g. This is very heavy. The most pleasant and predictable sheet of STN is 2.1mm H39 black. In this specification expect 50g when cut. This will be the sweet spot spec. Not too heavy, not too bouncy. My personal trick is that I glue STN leaving 3-4mm gap between rubber and handle. This allows to lower the weight (I like head heavy racket as everything is easier with it).

The first impressions of my first day with Target National are that it is a very good rubber, with good speed, awesome spin on topspin and serves. The short game is somewhat worse than Hurricane. And topspin versus backspin isn't as easy as hurricane. i each that target provincial blue is better for topspin vs backspin, i am not sure.
But the truth is that when you hit hard the ball picks up more speed and a beastly rotation. It's more tackyness than hurricane. We will have to wait for the tacky to disappear a bit, possibly it will play better. Nice rubber.

It is a very stable rubber! I have used it on Viscaria and Flextra. It fits both carbon and all wood blades well. Shots are easy to land, well-paced amid a bit less spinny than Hurricane 3 Neo (H3N). The only drawback is that it is heavy! It comes in at 53g after cut which limits the choice of my backhand rubber. Otherwise, I prefer this rubber over H3N because of its speed and stability.
Red, Max on a Yinhe Mercury Y-13 blade. This is after one training session and match training for three hours. Very tacky rubber. The sponge feels very hard. STN is clearly heavier than DHS H3N and very much heavier than Big Dipper. Brush looping has not the same effect as with Yinhe Big Dipper or DHS Hurricane/Skyline NEO rubbers. Perhaps a bit nicer in the short play because of the harder sponge. I feel the throw is quite low as well, and the speed is not near the previous mentioned rubbers, so it makes playing away from the table quite difficult. Hopefully it'll break in in a couple of sessions. I'll be back with more info. Weight cut, Max: 56g

I've used the Hurricane 3 Neo, Hurricane 3 Neo Provincial, Hurricane 8, Nittaku Hurricane 3 Pro 3 Orange and a Yasaka Shining Dragon over the past few years. The Sanwei Target National is the rubber I prefer now. It's faster than the other Chinese rubbers without the need to boost. Throw angle is lower than the Hurricanes.
I tried my friends Sanwei Target National. All I can say is that is has good spin and speed. when new it feels dead and not very bouncy but after break-in and reglue the rubber became lively and actually quite fast for a chinese tacky rubber it has a medium throw angle lower than that of the Hurricane 3 Neo. I would rate is spin as about at the level of the H3N. I think that sanwei used a lower strength glue to stivk the topsheet to the sponge because the topsheet is easy to separate from the sponge I dont know if it is because we used speed glue but nevertheless I recommend using water-based glue
STN is a Hurricane 3 Neo with lower throw and a more lively sponge. Like a boosted Hurricane 3 Provincial, blue sponge. It is tacky out of the pack but the tackiness goes away fast. It remains very grippy and spinny. Almost as spinny as Hurricane 3 Neo and Hurricane 8. The sponge feels hard in the short game but once activated produces higher speeds than the previous two rubbers without compromise on control. It has the most linear behaviour I have come across. The more power you put the higher the speed you get with very smooth transition between gears. The throw is a bit lower than H3N and H8 which makes it perfect for countering close and far away from the table. The last two features make STN a great rubber. My opponents think they hit a loop-kill winner and then they are surprised to see me attacking it instead of just blocking it. It is a physically demanding rubber for high level play based on power and footwork. It is for intermediate and advanced players who practice regularly, with solid technique, footwork and timing. On the other hand, H3N and H8 are slower, not bouncy at all, harder, easier to operate, all around rubbers. So, it comes down to your level and game style.
Very good training rubber or if you like slower controlled looping. Really easy to pick up balls with heavy backspin. Good control and can get nice spin on topspin to topspin rallies. Serves feel good with the tacky surface. Not quite the level of dhs tacky but pretty good. After playing with it for a good few month I found it lack speed, the spin was there loop was there just not enough punch to get finishing shots. Found myself in longer rallies and favoring topspin to topspin. Everything was a touch soft for me to a point that it felt mushy at times. Blocking is nice with good control. It's market as tacky on hard cake sponge and most people say it's an alternative to h3 lightly boost. Eh kind of, Chinese rubbers are way harder and stn will give you a weird tacky not quite hard feel. It wont change your stroke that much if you're coming from tensor but its is much slower and needs to be brushed to get good use out of it. If you're going for a fun or rubber go for it. I had load of fun rallying and mid distance counter looping back and forth. But again it just lacks a bit more speed.
Very nice rubber at an accessible price. The blue sponge is hard but not rock hard for an aggressive forehand loop. The loop is easier for me now with this rubber because of the hard yet surprisingly springy sponge! The topsheet is also suitable for forehand moves because it's thin and tacky. Very tacky! I can lift the ball from the table with this. This is the ideal Euro-Chinese blend rubber I've always wanted. It's important to wipe this often. I haven't used it enough to judge it's durability, but so far even with repeated cleanings, the rubber is as sticky as when I got it. The control in the close game and the power far away from the table, it's all very good! Overall, my pushes, loops, and blocks are all done with better confidence, speed, and spin than before. I will keep getting this one!
Using BLK Max, Quite heavy. Very spinny, has good control and works for offensive strategy mixed players and not all out power players (no Ma Longs with this rubber). Great service and receive capabilities. Easier to open up backspin over other chinese rubbers Ive used. Great looking blue sponge.
Negative things to say - topsheef started peeling away after 7 months but kept spinning and doing its job. Still works as a trainer rubber for newbies I teach or as a spare in case the world burns down. Works well for DEF to OFF - players best. Overall, a well balanced chinese runner that does more brush type style than power looping.

I am very happy with Sanwei target national. Finally find this rubber which is suitable for my style. I am fast Penhold attacker and play very aggressive closed to table and like to loop far from table. STN is very spinny rubber with good control. You can play where you want. Perfect for smashing and looping. Excellent for serving. You must see the spin of Opponent Otw could be disaster. No catapult thats why I would recommend only for forehand. It’s not the fastest rubber but faster than other classic Chinese rubber (for example dhs skyline 3 neo). You need your own force. You can generate a huge mount of spin if you hit the ball well. I play this rubber on my Stiga carbonado 245. must play on Carbon blade otw could be to slow on a wood blade. You must try it if you like Chinese rubber!
Best choice if you like chinese boosted rubber. Very happy that i finally find this rubber which is suitable for my style (penholder). You can generate a lot of spin. Easy to control. No catapult therefore good for FH. Perfect for smashing and looping far away from table. Dangerous seevice. It needs experience to read the spin of Opponents service otw could be a Disaster. Are you searching for a boosted and a bit softer H3? Well look no more, because here is your lucky saviour the Sanwei Target National. Just to be clear I play with Euro/Jap attacking rubbers, so when judging speed I will compare it to euro rubbers. This is a slowish rubber, I could hit a loop with my full power and I was not able to do a longshot. It has a speed similar to a Bluefire M3. Which is not enough if you pair it with an OFF-/OFF blade. I noticed that my balls are not that spinny like with an M1 or a Palio AK47 RED or even an M3. Only fine brush loops gave huge spins, but there were not enough power in those shots. While playing with this rubber was very fun, it is very consistent, I was able to perform all my techniques I find it a bit lacking in aggressiveness. So if you are an all out cannon do not buy this. If you like to play with your spins and placements or if you are a hobby player I would recommend this. Very easy to use and also fun.

I have used both Sanwei Target National and Moon Pro for a few years. Both black forehand (medium sponge MP) and both max sponge. In my opinion MP has a slightly harder & better quality sponge and topsheet with slightly more speed and spin... STN has a little more control. MP comes factory boosted, STN is not. One nice feature of MP is the factory glue sheet that is already attached to the sponge, so you only need to apply glue the the blade not the sponge. MP boosts better than STN but the life of both can be extended by boosting. These rubbers give what you put in, so both speed and spin potential is brought out by the player. I have used both on double inverted attacking setup and long pips backhand defensive twiddling style setup. All stokes work well, forehand chop takes some work but can be highly effective. Both are excellent Chinese rubbers rubbers available for under $25usd.
Hey everybody. I have read all the comments about Sanwai Target National, before buying this product and I have to admit that I was very glad when I heard that that rubber is very sticky. I waited impatiently but after 30 minutes I was completely disappointed. Sticky effect disappeared TOTALY. Pay attention to those who buy and hope they will have a sticky rubber.
Solid modern Chinese off rubber for 40+ ball. Medium high throw angle, tacky and a bit on the heavy side. Soft rubber and medium hard sponge. Glued on a Sanwei A9 it's a looping machine. Easy to control. Normal sensitive for incoming spin. And at last you can produce heavy spin over and behind the table.
This is the ultimate Chinese rubber. Hard, super fast, super spinny, and bizarrely affordable. If you are an aggressive player looking for a fast spinny rubber, look no further. Very low throw angle.
Very good well balanced modern Chinese rubber. Soft topsheet and medium hard rubber. In short to short and over the table easy to play. Good for first offensive strike. You can feel how the ball dips in the soft tacky rubbber and the speed of medium hard sponge. Good job Sanwei.

I used this for about 6 months and love it. I can smash very good with control and the spin and the consistent feel it has when returning my opponent shots make me laugh when there expression changes on there face. For me this rubber is great. I've read all the reviews of the users on here and I think they maybe selling this rubber a little short. I love this rubber!
Very spinny. Serves can make people push balls of the long side of the table. Pushes can be extremely short at command, good touch. Very good at picking up backspin/chops. Can do extremely short backspin serves, forcing opponent to push. Great pick up for 3rd ball attacks. Extremely tacky, can lose tackiness during play but after cleaned, topsheet becomes tacky again. Topsheet is extremely durable, caught the rubber on a forehand loop on edge of table, did not tear or lose tackiness after cleaning. Mid to close reccomened, extra effort to punch ball,but it works, can do long distance looping as need.

*Disclaimer* not a pro and do not possess overwhelming experience. I have been using the Target National for about six months on a Andro CSV+ (this is the blade I started out with and after almost two years I am upgrading to an Offensive blade). I feel like I can do anything I want with these rubbers; loop, flick, push, block, drive, and smash and well done too. Only problem I have is sometimes going over the table sightly (that is the frustrating part) however, that may be operator error. Although the surface marrs easily it does not seem to affect the performance. These rubbers are very durable and lasts forever it seems. I think I am going to buy a new pair to go with my new offensive blade.
As a low level club player who prefers traditional chinese forehand rubber, i have been challenged by the classics like H3, always finding some variant like the Skyline series, or, when I am am playing smart, the Tinarcs. But that was before the plastic ball. STN is the best allround modern chinese classic. it has a tacky topsheet and a hard sponge, but is fast enough and dynamic with the plastic balls. it still does all of the things that a classic chinese sheet will do (block, chop, push, attack over the table) but adds a bit more punch on direct hitting and looping. occaisonal ball slips with a funny sound, but rare enough to be not a problem. topsheet will scuff easily and appear worn, but it plays well. this is the first non-boosted chinese forehand rubber i can use on my Yasaka Gatien Extra, and still feel like I have enough speed to end points.
After it breaks in, it is pretty remarkable. Feels like a chinese rubber for short game, and then has a fast low arc when attacking. Probably lacks some of the devastating spin of a boosted H3; but it is VERY good. Even turns a 5 ply limba ALL+ blade into something that you can end points with speed over the table.

It has the attribute of a chinese rubber in that the sheet is tacky and hard. At first, you really need to adapt a bit as top spins will only be consistent if your hip moves forward while your arm/leg/wrist gives spin. But then, the top spins get an incredible power, super low bounce and spin. I noticed also that the very first time of use the rubber is extremely hard and that tends to soften after 2-3 weeks playing it while your technique adapts in the meantime, which makes a bit more comfortable to play overall.
Blocking is generally easier as the rubber hardness and tackiness will absorb much of the speed. Actually, it gives the impression the rubber is quite slow. Typical Chinese sticky/tacky rubber with lots of spin and speed. But rubber is very very heavy. More heavier than H3Neo or H3-50. Almost similar weight as G888! For Chinese rubber it is pretty fast. Topsheet is very fragile. Gets marking even from shirt or towel. Medium throw angle maybe a little bit high. So speed and throw-angle makes very difficult to block effectively, block return too easy to punish. High quality spin on serve, push, chop, flick, loop, drive and even smashing is easy.

the rubber does everything it says. spins like my h3 neo provincial and commercial. speed is a bit faster than my h3 provincial, only cons i found on this rubber is its very heavy 56 grams cut. will try to play more and will update this thread.

Definitely this is for the more offense, "I'm going to win the point as fast as I can" players.

I put this on a Stiga Offensive Classic WRB, the result is just what I wanted. A spin monster with amazing level of control. I had played for 9 months with Tenergy 25 bh, tenergy 64 fh, on an Adidas Hypertouch after returning to the game after 45 yrs, and although a good combination did not fit with my older body (70 yrs). Your Spin can get better with age, so I decided try this. I really recommend this if you want spin with control on a good offensive wooden racket.

Played rubber 5 months. Blade: rosewood 5 nct.
Very sticky, slow and hard. This was the first 3 training. Then tack decreased, but increased speed and control. Now the tackiness was the same as DHS N3 NEO. National version is not a typical Chinese rubber like target provincial. It fast and sponge springy. Top sheet thick and hard. Softer and more elastic than DHS H3. This is not a tensor. Without booster rubber hard. A lot of speed and at the same time difficult to brush the ball. I use booster after month. It became easier to play.
I think that this rubber mostly for power loops then brushing vs block, vs loops. Not so good against underspin. This is closer to the traditional Chinese rubber then tensors and have a good speed. Also it is better to play with plastic ball.

Tacky, mid throw.Medium hardness. Good for control. Spinny serves but have to brush well on strokes to lift chops or push if you are trying to topspin.
I wanted to rewrite a review on this rubber. I have played MANY rubbers in an attempt to find a solid Chinese brush loop rubber. Many like H3 or H2, but they were not for me. I ended up finally trying T05 because I found a barely used sheet cheap! After a few games, I could see what all the fuss was about. Spinniest on serves and loops, but control is some what an issue. However, it did not lift backspin balls as easy as I thought it would. Please don't think I'm knocking T05, im not. Hang in there... I noticed many of my balls going long, so I stopped and put this back on to get an immediate comparison... It's not coming back off! It's just soooooo good! The National sponge is EPIC. So much control over whatever shot I want to take. Blocks slightly better with T05 due to hardness, but not a problem at all. Short game easy to control. The rubber gives you what you tell it to do. Lifting loops is EASIER with this rubber. My vertical brush loop on 3rd ball was many times unreturnable. I am using it on a Jun Mitsutani clone blade, and it's perfect. Smashes are easy, fast, and controlled. Hitting is so easy. But this rubber is a loop drive monster, and spin attack machine. Serves are loaded. Maybe 10% less than T05.... Maayyyyybe? All in all, I'm blown away by this rubber, and many of my opponents were too :-). If you have, or wish to have a Chinese loop rubber, you're an idiot if you don't try this. I bought a sheet of H8, and it's good, slightly better control, but not NEAR as many gears as this rubber, and nowhere close to the spin. Impressive to say the least.
this is a new rubber for me,Very controllable and spinning power, when you need it. technique is the most important thing about table tennis,to bad it only comes in black?
