Excellent rubber, low angles, but once you get used to it you can defend and attack very well. Extremely durable! I play 2hr/day 5 days a week and this rubber has lasted at least a year without loss of spin or control. You do have to clean it every time you use it though.

(Red MAX on a 5-ply wood blade)
This rubber is cheap, consistent, and very durable. It is a non-tacky, more European-style rubber. The rubber has a thick topsheet with a narrow pip structure. It has a soft-feeling contact with a medium sponge for faster shots. This gives it good dwell time even at low speeds, giving it great control.

Very good control. Had enough spin but lack of speed.

I brought it because of the reviews... But it is slower than what I expected. Control is good but the throw angle is quite low. We have to adjust to that. Overall good for a control minded player. Chops and pushes are good. Blocking is great. Topspins need more effort especially with the plastic ball. I don't think any of the reviews here were written after they started using the plastic ball...

Super fast rubber. Not for a beginner. I switched to a more all around rubber and performed a lot better than I did with this rubber. Now that I am more experienced, I am looking at getting a faster rubber.

We put this rubber on both sides of a Joola Carbon Pro preassembled racket of a friend of mine (the racket originally came w. 4you rubbers) There was an immediate improvement in his game. His pushes came back just shaving the net like never before his blocking became very controlled. I had to try it myself. Control is amazing, spin is very good, a bit slow but very good rubber indeed.

its very nice ruber for anyone, the only problem is speed but if u have long swing u can create solid speed for long game. . . its for spiny loops, bloks are controled, short game, chops

Compared to Sriver and Cream Transcend, this one is slower but spinnier. I can make my shots land more precisely. The rubber is very forgiving, meaning you can swing differently and the shots will still go out pretty much the same way. Because this rubber is good at spinning and control (but not speed), I can initiate third-ball attack by looping or chopping easily. However, into the fifth ball I feel it lacks speed / aggressiveness.

afters years of using Butterfly Sriver, I changed to 729 Cream Transcend (a slightly better rubber in most areas, at significantly lower price). Then based on other reviews I decided to give Focus 1 a try. I would say this one is much less aggressive compared to Cream Transcend or Sriver. If you are developing techniques or need a very controllable rubber this might work for you. But if you have used Cream Transcend or Sriver and need more attacking power (faster spinnier loops) then this is NOT for you.

this rubber has a very soft feel and allows pretty big margin of error (as in you can hit the ball with slightly different strokes and it still goes out pretty much the same way). pretty spinny but a little slow on speed. i would recommend this to players looking for defensive plays. comparable to sriver el.

Nice rubber! Higher throw, soft feel, less sensitive to incoming spin, yet nicely spinny in game. Slow sponge of course, pair 2.2 mm with at least OFF blade. Serve is not special, but otherwise this rubber performs very well. So far my favourite among 729 rubbers (I've tried more than ten 729 rubbers).

nice rubber, I like it. soft sponge, therefore not tipical chinese, nor it is tipical euro-jap. better suited for loops than for smashes, however ok for smashing combined with wood which is fast enough. I like Focus II as well, but Focus III has sponge too soft for my taste. mind that sponge is tipically slow just like almost any chinese sponge

This is a really nice rubber, and I really like this for my forehand. It does a great job of grabbing the ball, and I'm able to produce a lot more off the table spin than my geospin tacky. It has a bit higher throw angle than a lot of the other RITC/729 products. I'm used to the lower throw angles of the harder products, so it made a hard adjustment for my backhand. On the forehand though, the adjustment was much easier for me, and actually helped my game a bit.

I used this rubber in 2.2mm. Very spinny, though not as powerful as I would have liked. Very high quality and feel for such a low price. After using rubbers costing £40 and getting the same amount out of them. Highly recommended.

had it on forehand and back hand of a TULPE allround wood blade, black has green sponge (transend???) and red has cream coloured sponge. very high dwell time and spin, very controlled yet if you unload with it you can generate quite a bit of speed, i would suggest this rubber to modern defenders with emphasis on control, or offensive players who prefer a back hand loop over a block

The friendship 729 focus I rubber is a fantastic attacking and offensive rubber for its price. Being only around 20 dollars, it performs near the standards of 50 $ rubber. This is a speed glue rubber though, so that kind of sucks, though it is still good.

Anyways, the speed is actually not that great. This rubber is more of a consistent, spinny looping rubber rather than a speed demon fatality rubber. The throw angle is relatively high, the top sheet is rather tacky, good for spin, and there is pretty good control. Thus, it is really good for looping underspin shots, and good overall for making consistent loops, particularly at mid distance looping.

I used RITC super 729 for 10 years. I wanted to find a rubber that was adapting with my game. I tried some of the more expensive rubbers and was unhappy. That is when I tried RITC 729 Focus I and feel I have found a rubber I can use for 10 more years.

I used both the 2.0 and the 2.2mm versions of this rubber. I like the 2.2mm better suited to my style. I combined it with an inexpensive Tibhar Match blade (all rounder). This blade head is a bit small thus making the assembled racquet with the thick rubber still quite light. I was very pleasantly surprised at how well this rubber suited my style of play which is a mix of offense and defense with plenty of backspin shots and opportunistic smashes. My favorite racquet just cost me about $46 which is an amazing price for the performance I am getting. This is after having tried some combinations costing between $85-$115!

I ordered and tried out a bunch of RITC rubbers after laying off from this game for around 30 years. It is amazing how different each plays. I found the RITC Focus One 2.0 mm fitted best for my style of play, mixture of defensive and opportunistic offense, but I'm not really a big smasher. The Focus I has the right combination of control without giving up speed. I found some of the others fast and spinny but I couldn't control it as well as the Focus.

Probably a solid 42* sponge. Good control but not all that fast. You can generate enough spin for an all-round spin game but I would say this rubber is better at flat hitting and countering. A little on the heavy side so don't plan on pairing your blade with two sheets of 2.2. Service is so-so. I use for a harder sponged BH on a medium soft carbon blade.

Its one of the best for the price you pay. Very good for amateurs who play better than basement Table Tennis. Good for semi professionals. Not recommended for beginners.
For Pros suitable for BH.
