The Butterfly Viscaria blade combines the Arylate fiber features of lightness, flexibility, and shock absorption with the carbon fiber features of high elasticity and minimal dissipation of energy. The result is a wonderful combination of power and control, with a sweet spot larger than a traditional all wood blade and softer touch than a standard carbon blade.

This Butterfly table tennis blade is ideal for quick counter-looping right off the bounce, though it is still capable of producing strong shots back from the table. The superior balance of offensive and defensive performance has been proven by the fact that many top players around the world still use it and continue to deliver results.

To increase the grip on this blade, you can add Soft Grip Tape, providing grip and comfort to the racket handle. Another great choice to extend the longevity of your racket is adding side tape to the blade, protecting the wood in the event it is hit on the table.

FAQ: Does Megaspin sell Japan-made Butterfly blades?

Some Butterfly blades like Korbel and Grubba are produced in factories both in Europe and in Japan, so they exist in 2 variants. When a Japanese blade has a Europe-made version, we always carry the Japanese variant. Other blades like Butterfly Timo Boll Offensive are only made in China so we cannot carry a Japanese variant of these blades.

FAQ: Do Butterfly blades come pre-sealed?

All Butterfly blades come pre-sealed from the factory. There is no need to add blade sealing but you may if you require additional protection.

Reviews of Butterfly Viscaria - Chinese Penhold (119)

So this is the best blade I ever owned. Everything you read about this blade is true.
It just feels right in all ways.
I ended up deciding to order it as opposite rubbers, blades will last you for decades if you take good care. Thats how you justify buying a piece of wood for 185$.
Now..... Butterfly is absolutely bonkers with their prices on their products.
I recently joined a TT forum and found out many things. Such as Aliexpress sells cheap equipment. And there are companies out there that copy these expensive blades and sell then at low cost. Identical materials. Yinhe PRO 01 is one of these blades. Supposed to be a Viscaria clone. And according to many reviews it is very very close to being just that. Just ordered one. and another one that is supposed to be a Timo Boll ALC clone. both of them cost under 40$ each. In the Forums people praise these blades. Majority of 90% does at least. So if you can not afford "Viscaria" brand. Try the alternative out maybe?
If you can afford it: I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Its worth the 185$ price tag. It makes the rubbers shine. And your play. UPDATE: I actually like my Donic Original True Carbon outer ALC blade just as much as the viscaria now. had same rubbers on the 2 blades and I wasnt sure what I liked the most.

Quality, 91 grams FL, medium speed, good control, wide grip, medium hardness, medium low permanence, linear, difficult to generate arc, plays better with Chinese or hybrid rubbers, large sweet spot, consistent, is softer and more flexible than boll alc, spirit alc, in my opinion the innerforce woods provides greater security in the game with the same consistency, Best for my harimoto alc and long 5

my dreamblade since I was in Highschool way back 1998. I have been a Donic Waldner Senso Carbon ST user for 10 years and when I returned to play this year, I find the ball to hard for my current blade. I purchased my Viscaria FL with serial number "X" or 2023 manufactured. Rakza 7 FH Black, Rakza 7soft BH red and the spin and speed is so fantastic. Great ball feel which is near my Waldner Senso Carbon. I also purchase a backup Yinhe Pro01 FL which I find a bit harder than Viscaria. I tested using max frequency monitoring and it actually confirmed my experience with Viscaria vs Yinhe Pro01
Viscaria -1350hz FH 1400hz BH
Yinhe Pro01 - 1450hz FH 14800hz BH
Waldner Senso Carbon ST - 1180hz FH 1250hz BH
Great Balance using Rakza 7/7S for a total weight of 184.4grams
Blade weight = 94grams

Transitioning from a Butterfly Korbel SK7 paired with Tenergy 05 to the Butterfly Viscaria with Tenergy 80 offered a subtle yet discernible shift in my playing experience. The Viscaria, despite its similarity to the SK7, boasts a slightly larger sweet spot, enhancing the precision of each shot.
The only difference I had was that a sweetspot is slightly bigger on Viscaria, while everything else is very close. I guess it is needed to say that Viscaria is a bit faster, 5-10% to be honest.
Overall its a super classical setup allowing myself to control everything in mid distance, while looping close to a table requires more effort and slight changes in my technique.
To sum up - you cannot go wrong with all-time classic.

I've been playing with this blade on and off for around five years. I always come back to it. The combination of koto and ALC gives that crispness that's unlike any other blade I've played.
