The Stiga Energy WRB is a magnificent creation of Stiga. Not only is it a very easy to learn blade, but it gives you some power for some strokes you are going to need to stretch. I tied this up with a Friendship 729 RITC GeoSpin Tacky on both sides, and my my, it created absolute topspin control and perfect elegance to my services. This blade is worth it. 4.5 stars!
Great in the speedglue era with hurricane. Not very useful anymore. A whole lot of vibration is that what your looking for.
Pros:
Very controlled game at the table and more than decent speed from far away. Excellent blade for Chinese rubbers. I love the combo with DHS H2 Blue sponge and H3 for looping at any distance with great control. It is light enough to accommodate heavy rubbers. Legend handle gives the best balance IMO. Cons: WRB (there are some suggestions how to eliminate this by using milled wood and wood glue. however, this may ruin the otherwise excellent balance)
The Stiga Energy WRB is a 5 ply blade composed of limba top-plys, 2 blue colored ayous secondary plys, and an ayous core. The finish of this blade is a little rough especially near the wings and handle. The Stiga Energy WRB is advertised to be a very light blade due to it's special drying process. When I received mine, it came in with a thickness of ~<6mm at 81 grams- with a legend handle.
This blade has some flex that is very helpful for looping. I felt that my BH loops had a little more arc in them and the the FH loop was crisp. It has enough power at the table to attack, at the same time has good control for blocks. However, as you step away from the table it takes considerably more effort to get the ball on the table. The feel of this blade is similar to the clipper since it's construction is very similar minus two ayous inner-plys. There is decent amount of vibration, but it does not feel like a freight train is moving down your arm. The legend handle is rough, but it's shape is comfortable (I have large hands). If you're looking for a cannon, that can loop balls through your opponent- you would have better luck having Chen Qi using this blade. If you're looking for something with more control at the table and mid distance (0-5ft), something that pairs well with tensors, or if you are looking for a 5-ply blade that is slower than a Clipper, but don't want to sacrifice the feel of a Clipper- the Stiga Energy WRB is for you.
