I love my new blade. I am using rozena with this blade and I like the combination.
Very good blade. I usually use Petr Korbel all-wood with 2.1 Rozena rubber both sides. This is very similar but feels just a bit lighter with the same rozena. I can feel more vibration in the handle on the Primorac which I like.
Currently using this with Rakza 7 max on both sides. It's a great setup to learn the game with. I've been able to do everything I've been instructed to do. It's got enough speed to finish a point, but it's not so fast that I can't keep the ball on the table.
A bit faster and harder than Palio s4. Here 729 bloom power starts to work at least well at backhand. I would say it's minimum speed blade for those rubbers, for more trained people. Good control. For people who want to defend the will go slower rubber, for offence faster rubbers. Good blade for semi profesionalists in attack, for pros to slow. Good for training strokes.
I'm reviewing a Primorac Made in Japan of 83gr weight and fairly recent production (2018). I'm a fh/bh attacker/looper, low intermediate level. By using FFT wave the frequency response is 1968Hz while Korbel is 1264Hz, and Viscaria is 1335Hz (i have also those blades) My Primo is nearly stiff, fast enough, very controlled blade, plenty of speed to finish the point. I use it with omega 7 europe 2.0mm on both sides: this combo is fantastic, you have both control and power. It's not a slow blade at all. The handle is perfect for my big hands, bigger than Korbel. Korbel is a great blade but the thin handle annoys me. Short game is very good, looping is a joy, from mid distance you will be ok with the right rubbers. I would say that Korbel has a bit more feel, less vibrations and a tiny bit more speed. Anyway Primorac is a great blade, can suit a wide range of players!
I have two version, Japan version 89 grams and Europe version 85 grams. Both are excellent built. Japan version is slightly faster. Primorac Allwood is very good for building our technique. Excellent control and feeling.
My first paddle, Japan version of it. Really good for a starter pack, just pair it with hard rubbers. You can easily learn all the strokes by using primorac. But on the other side it lacking of speed with the new ball and when u make few steps from the table u should add really big amount of power even if you really fit and strong. I can tell it as an ex national wrestler and bodybuilder. If ur goal is just to play for fun and you in to 5 ply-wood with good ball feeling than this blade is very good choice for its price.
Tried Butterfly Primorac Japan older version with T05 both sides, I was shocked how slow it is. Perfect blade for beginners but it is too slow. I know if you have proper stroke and fast rubbers you can send powerful ball, but comparing this blade to all other off blades it feels like allround or even defensive. I give this one 7/10 for speed and 9/10 for control. For 65 euros I think there are much better alternatives for non professional players.
Beautifully made blade. However, the aesthetic features has changed from the original. The anatomic handle is no longer available, yet the feel is still very good. Like most blades, the edges of the blade can be quite sharp, so a bit of sanding will be necessary for a custom feel.

I have paired my Primorac with DHS hurricane neo on forehand and Yinhe Qing ox on backhand .The feel of the blade is unbelievable with control for my backhand pips .Forehand I can play unbelievable loops with heavy spin .The blade can generate very good speed without compromising on control...Backhand chops land on the table everytime .An excellent blade if you want to play with long pips and inverted combination and also excellent with an all round attacking game .

Hi! I played TT a couple of years with just friends at work. 4 months ago started to play in a TT club with Butterfly Petr Korbel balde with Tenergy 05FX. Just too much in fact for my leven. So I have moved to a made in Japan Primorac blade+ butterfly roundell hardware FH and butterfly Roundell soft for Backhand. This is a nice and controllable blade, only a bit slow for my play. Can someone give a few nice allround rubbers or Offensive+ rubbers for Primorac?
Quality blade with a nice feel to it, good blade for players that are trying to get better.
I like this blade. It does not seem to excel at anything at first, but it is just very versatile. I would say its speed is at the lower end of OFF. It seems to me slightly stiffer than other blades of similar speed that I have played with recently enough to remember (Yasaka Extra and Stiga Allround Evolution) but it is not stiff per se. The feeling/feedback is not as strong/intense as from those other blades, but is clean and pleasant. I'd describe the feeling as medium (not as soft as one might expect!) and relatively solid. One thing that surprised me was that despite a mass of 89g it felt lighter in hand than many lighter blades: it is extremely well balanced. The quality of my Japan-made version is also top notch. One thing I didn't enjoy as much was quite a bit of vibration, especially noticeable with harder rubbers.
This is the perfect blade for any level beginner. I wish someone had told me about it before wasting money on all sorts of crap. The quality is fantastic, the finish is great, the weight perfect. It is no slouch but easy to master.

I used the Chinese-style version of this blade for about 3 years when I was learning penhold. It's perfect for looping from close or mid distance and it's thin and light enough to add a backhand rubber for RPB. After the most recent ball change, I think it might be a little too slow for anything other than an all-around game. Highly recommended to beginning players who want to develop their loop.
My first racket. It seems I came across a good batch, because it's high quality made even though Hungarian and not Japanese. It's the best selling Butterfly blade for a reason - very well balanced - it's 90g but not top heavy, very comfortable handle, good control, good speed, feeling is pleasing. Cheaper than most other 5-ply all wood blades but also better than most of them. I've heard they went down in quality post 2015. Mine is 15 years old and a keeper. I would say it is the best blade to begin with and reach intermediate level.

First impressions are that butterfly have a cash cow in this blade. Quality of top ply wood is average for a Chinese blade less than half its price. Not as the earlier models in quality and finish but I guess those are more comparable to the current Hadrow range of wooden blades. After 3 month's use I have come to appreciate why it is so popular: its speed, touch and handling is just right for most situations. Most intermediate players would benefit from abandoning the super stiff and fast carbon bandwagon and try one of these classic limba limba ayous all wood combos.

I give the primorac 5 stars all the way. It is a great control blade that can still be used for attacking with powerful loops and drives depending on your rubbers. Additionally, it also has great touch whenever I need to play defensive by either chopping, pushing, and blocking. The primorac performs very well, and it is my go to blade when playing at the clubs. I put Razka X on my FH and Razka 7 soft on my backhand, which provides me with enough spin and speed to beat most of my intermediate competitors. In my opinion, this is a great blade for all levels of players from beginners, intermediates, and even semi-pros. Get this a great blade to refine your TT techniques and beating your opposition in matches.

I've played with this blade for 2 years now and was/am really happy with it. It can do just about anything. VERY reliable. Other than that it doesn't excel in anything in particular also. after testing some rubbers, I used Joola xplode sensitive for the backhand and the Donic Acuda S2 for the forehand. it's is a very good combination. I would recommend this to people with beginner or intermiediate attackers or to allrounder. A bit head heavy. comfortable handle with good finish. best value for the money out there!!!

Heard so much about this blade being the benchmark of 5 plys so I ordered it with an Anatomic handle and waited ages for it to arrive from inters pl. Club mate uses an old one and can't find anything to replace it with. The new one I got is nothing like the old one. In a nutshell it was no great shakes but I may not have got a good one. Weighed a respectful 85 grams.

I'm an intermediate player, and I had a chance to play with different blades throughout my skill build up for 2 years now, the best overall blade that helped me to improve my skill was the BTY Primorac, control is where this blade excels which also suits my style. definitely for beginners, its fairly fast, Primorac has low spin, but it can varies based on the rubber you use, but when you find the wright set up for the blade and fits your style,its a BEAST!!. I've tested Primorac with (DHS H3 Neo, Acuda S2 & S3) but the best set up I have and still use is (Rakza 7 forehand & Rakza 7 soft backhand). Highly recommended.
that's the only serious blade i have ever played with.i bought it during early ninetys,it's made in japan with old butterfly metal logo on the handle.weight 87 gr.it is very nice playin .nice speed ,great control and great accuracy on short game ,no vibrations at all.

This blade is a classic for good reasons. It provides very good control and sufficient power for allmost all strategies. I play it with Palio CJ8000 Extreme (BH) and Butterfly Sriver L (FH) and that makes a fantastic combination for an allround-play. The straight handle feels a bit short to me and the consistency differs. My blade is only 75g others can be up to 90g and more as my team mates hve experienced. So if you´re weight-sensitive you better check in advance.

Lately I have been improving and after getting comfortable with this racket I can control the ball very well. The Primorac is a very good racket if you want control. After much practice I can place the ball where I want to from my opponents counters and hard loops. It is a great racket if you want to make your opponent run around.
However the problem is that I noticed the racket is very slow. The ball will not go very fast off the racket which is good if you are just starting out. This contributes to the control factor as you can place it where you want to. However now the racket is too slow. When I do a counter of course my opponent just smashes the ball back. My loop kills do not surprise my opponent because the ball comes off my racket slowly. After you get better you might want to switch to an OFF racket or even the other OFF- rackets which are mostly faster than the Primorac.
Overall this is a great racket for beginners that will serve you for a long time. After a while you will need to switch to a new racket for more speed. Don't get the Primorac Carbon, it seems like the successor but it actually is a huge step up in speed and your shots will go flying. You will want to get an OFF racket after you finish with the Primorac or a slightly faster OFF- racket.
UPDATE: Its been about two years since I got the Primorac and I have improved greatly. I now use the Zhang Jike Arylate/Carbon blade which is very nice and comfortable handle but practically no speed difference between this and the Primorac. If you use good technique this blade will give you all the power and control you could possibly want. The topspin is enormous. If you like to be able to execute loops that go at 120 mph and have so much spin, it goes in a beautiful curve and kicks up like a Mexican jumping bean when it hits the other side of the table, this is the blade for you. Also chops far from the table dig in beautifully and counter loops have a great woody feel to them. The best all-round blade on the market. A must-buy. Good for beginners, intermediates, advanced players, and professionals.

After using the Zhang Jike for almost a year, I have switched back to the Primorac. This is not because I cannot control the Zhang Jike, but the Primorac has equal speed and more control and has a such a beautiful feel as I cannot describe how nice it is. So much control, I can hit a dime with blocks and loops. Now that I have developed into more of a defensive player I have found this is perfect with Xiom Vega Asia 2mm on the FH for extreme counterloops and BTY Feint Long II 1.3 mm on the BH for incredible chops from 10 ft from the table it is the best all round blade and defensive blade enough speed for attack and slow enough for the chop buy it! Don't buy sriver with it its overrated buy Xiom rubbers. I use Feint Long because it is the only rubber that bty makes that is not overrated (COUGH COUGH Tenergy).

I've used gergely, dawei gts, 729 hinoki carbon, cornilleau hinotec off- . from those blade, primorac give me superior control
After trying a number of other and much more expensive blades I finally ended up with this one for my allround/offensive play. Very good price/quality ratio. It is just a good tool with no real weaknesses. Very nice flared handle shape. Stiffer than T. BOll all+ for example. I was surprised that it has got quite some power reserves when hitting harder although it is not the blade for distance loopers.
good blade for beginners butterfly classic, medium speed, very good control, enought feel. this is the blade to learn the forehand topspin tecnique and basically any stroke, i dont how to explain but primorac have enought in every aspect enought speed, feel..... to learn how to play
La mia a estado conmigo desde hace 2 años y me ha permitido mejorar mucho mi juego. A pesar de que no soy un jugador ofensivo, el control que te da esta tabla te permite bajar la intensidad del juego y forzar a tus oponentes a que caigan en tu estilo de juego, en donde rápidamente se desesperan y cometen errores. Tengo Sriver 2.1 en el FH y Tackifire Special Soft 2.1 en el BH.

The best all wood blade I have used by far from butterfly. Great feel and control. Great for learning fundamentals. Becomes counterproductive after reaching an <1400 level however. Lets face it, nobody really buys butterfly and expects to get a good quality all wood blade. Nittaku, Stiga, and Avalox blow Butterfly away in that department. Once one gets to a higher level and wants to stick to an allwood blade I would suggest that they look at these other company's for options.
is also good for choppers,using feint III 1.1 I tested it next to defplay senso and surprisingly there appeared to be more backspin with the primorac although the chops were a little higher and deeper,but the possibity to attack with f/h is better..further test to follow against tougher opposition

i have played with this blade over the years. a very AVERAGE blade that is suitable for pretty much all the styles I play from loops to chops and touch serves. Control factor is very high. Speed is getting too slow as I advance to intermediate levels as my loop-kills do not surprise my opponents even if i swing real fast. Great blade for all-around players.
What can anyone say about this blade? It does everything at a decent price. It may not have the extra power that an ALC blade has but it does have a very good feeling during controlled shots. the Limba wood used to make the blade really absorbs energy from opposing shots really well in an all around blade.
I have been using this blade for 3 years. I use Sriver G2Fx and Sriver G2 both 2.1. Feel is fantastic with great control. Capable of doing all shots. Great blade to learn with and great blade to become a very advanced player with as well.

Attractive handle design with comfortable feel however the flared and straight handles are a bit small. Only the flared version is available in the USA. Can be heavy with thick rubbers. Good for intermediate club players or beginners with thinner sponge. A great Butterfly blade.
