Hi Fadil, the price of the replacements are like gold, but the product you are getting is gold plated rather than solid gold. In other words you are paying more for an inferior product. Sometimes its better to change and buy solid silver rather than gold plated. That’s what you would be doing if you were to play with Friction LP rather than LP that is pretending to be frictionless, but is not. That’s what I feel you are getting with Octopus and probably with many other friction LPs. To answer your question the spin reversal on top spin is only very good with Octopus when you chop block, in other words you have to do an active stroke. Let me ask you this though, does it not feel more self satisfying when you force the error from your opponent using your own skill rather than just the rubber? Thanks, Ben.
P.S. This rubber was never going to be illegal as it has just been developed in collaboration with Chen Weixing (Chopper/Looper) and Liu Song (Chop Blocker/Looper), it was never intended to be a replacement for frictionless. |
