gark,
when you do the loop swing,the usual position of your racket is more of a closed position.when i say that you aim the racket tip at the tip of the net,the racket tip is more or less in line with the net's top portion.when the ball is below the table when you hit it,the racket tip should also be more or less in line with the tip of the net,however the imaginary line will be inclined, since the ball is now lower than the table and the net.snapping of the wrist is also an additional looping boost,but as dave said,chances of injury to the wrist is greater.i just loose up my arms and try to relax my hold on the racket to achieve the same whiplash effect on my loops.
